Michael Andre is a Vienna-born photographer and queer artist based in New York City. After a distinguished career in travel, he embraced photography later in life—an evolution that continues to shape his perspective and visual language. Central to his work is his queer identity, which informs the intimacy, sensitivity, and approach of his portraits.
 
Andre’s photography is rooted in queer visibility, tenderness, and beauty. His work interrogates conventional notions of romantic and erotic attraction, creating images that are both intimate and challenging, blurring boundaries between desire, identity, and self-representation.
 
His work has been exhibited and published across North America, Europe, and Australia. He is currently developing Queer Portraits, an ongoing exploration of queer identity, alongside Not Only For Fans, an intimate series documenting the lives of genderqueer performers and sex workers.
